Hi, I'm Emily!
I'm a product designer and Human-AI interaction researcher.
My design philosophy is to create designs moulded for the users. I believe in driving design based on research with actual users.
As a Human-AI interaction researcher, I have explored how to improve AI systems' ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with humans, improve current evaluations on AI models, and build safer AI systems for people. As AI becomes integrated in our everyday lives, my goal as a product designer and researcher is to design AI-integrated products that don't replace people but instead amplify people's potential in a safe way.
Education Background
I'm a MASc student at the University of Toronto (UofT) under the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering working with Birsen Donmez. I completed my undergrad at UofT with a double major in computer science and statistics and a minor in digital humanities.
